Leaf
Supplies
Overhead transparencies
Overhead projector Pen
or marker
4'x8' Coroplast™ 4mm corrugated plastic sheets-2 different
colors per leaf
(suggested colors: red, orange, and yellow)
Jigsaw with a plastic grade blade
Hot glue gun with glue
Fishing line or other
hanging material
Instructions
1. Draw the leaf base and leaf overlay onto the overhead
transparencies as shown.
2. Determine what colors your leaves will be: yellow
base with orange overlay, red base with yellow overlay,
etc. Using an overhead projector, trace the leaf templates
onto the different colored Coroplast sheets. Use up
to the entire 4'x8' sheet for each leaf to make "larger
than life" leaves for your children's ministry area.
3. Use a jigsaw with a plastic grade blade to cut the
Coroplast leaves. (You can cut multiple sheets at one
time by stacking the Coroplast and cutting the entire
stack.) When you cut out your overlays, be sure to save
the inner cut-out pieces. These pieces can then be put
on a leaf base to create a second overlay design (see
diagram).
4. Hot glue leaf overlays to leaf bases to complete
your leaves.
5. Attach fishing line or other hanging material to
your leaves and hang them from the ceiling and/or the
walls in your children's ministry area.
