SPRING QUARTER

UNIT 1 OVERVIEW
Celebrate Easter as you help your children embrace the truth that Jesus is their King, He is alive, and He is always there for them.

As with the Christmas week lesson, Easter week, Lesson 2, has no Small Group time. Instead, the Large Group time will incorporate additional activities led by the Teacher, and facilitated—with no needed Preparation—by any volunteers who are available. Please refer to the Director’s Notebook for suggestions on how to schedule the Easter unit each year as the date of Easter Sunday changes. All lessons are taught by a Teacher, who will travel on Eddie the Engine with the kids to a new location each week.

The power of prayer becomes tangible as your group pictures Paul and Silas praying while in prison chains, and friends praying for Peter who was imprisoned. As the kids imagine these three men escaping from prison, they can understand how prayer can help them and their friends through anything, anywhere, and anytime.

UNIT 4 OVERVIEW
These relevant stories bring Jesus to high-definition life.  Kids learn how to relate to Jesus as they watch Matthew throwing a party to celebrate his friendship with Jesus, men lowering a paralyzed friend through a roof because they trust Jesus' mercy, a young boy offering his own lunch so Jesus could feed other hungry people, and disciples spending time to learn from the friend who transformed their lives — and ours.

SUMMER QUARTER

There is no formal Small Group time during the Summer Quarter in order to give your leaders a break from the weekly commitment. Instead, kids will participate in “Summer Group” activities, led by the Large Group Teacher following each Large Group lesson. You will need to recruit adult volunteers to work with the children during Activity Stations and Summer Group, but they will not need to prepare anything in advance. UNIT 1 OVERVIEW
During this unit, children will hear the story of creation: how God created everything in six days, including light and dark, the water and the sky, the land and plants, birds and fish, animals, and His most wonderful creation: people. On the seventh day, God rested. Each week, kids will hear the entire story with a specific focus on a different part of creation.
